Denise Merz lived her life in South Florida. She grew up in Miami Springs and spent most of her adult life in Broward County. She was a devoted mother and family member whose heart was being at home to care for her children. She also took pride in the various jobs she had throughout her life, but her biggest loves were plants, nature and biology. She took a master gardening course, attended USF, and worked in horticulture. Denise was a devout Catholic who enjoyed going to church.
She is preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Russell Hancock and survived by her three daughters, Christina Merz and her husband Earnest Crenshaw, Allyson Merz and Michelle Merz; grandchildren, Jonathan and Nicholas; sister, Donna Hovsepian and her husband Mickey; brother, Neal Hancock and his partner Ada Fields.
We are thankful for the years we had with our humble, humorous and beautiful mother and family member. She will be truly missed, and we will always carry her with us.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, April 19th, 2022, at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Boulevard Chapel located at 6400 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, FL 33024 from 12:00-1:00 PM with a Funeral Mass at 1:30 at Little Flower Catholic Church located at 1805 Pierce Street, Hollywood, FL 33020 and burial at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery in North Lauderdale.

I am sad Denise left this world so suddenly and its hard to think she is no longer with us. But I know she is at peace with our Lord. She will be remembered in our hearts as a kind and sweet person even with her difficulties in life. We will miss her.

I’m sorry Denise! I hope you can forgive me, so that I might forgive myself. If only I could undue the damage I’ve caused. Please forgive me!
