Dolores Inez Oliver was born on April 2, 1930 in Martinsburg, West Virginia. She was the second child of three children born to Mayme and Oscar Dennis. She departed peacefully into eternal rest on Saturday, February 11, 2006.
Many people called Dolores their friend and she was affectionately known as Dee Dee, Sis and ?The Queen.? Dolores graduated from Sacred Heart of Mary High School in New York. She married Clarence Oliver in 1955 and they had one child, Cedric.
Dolores worked for AT&T, the Manhattan School of Music and later retired from Amtrack. In 2002, she moved to Florida from Levittown, Pennsylvania. Dolores liked to keep active. After moving to Florida, she returned to work joining Wal-Mart as an associate.
Dolores was fun-loving and vibrant. She enjoyed watching tennis and tending to her plants. She had a strong spirit and always spoke her mind. Dolores lived her life with faith, honesty, integrity and great love. These are the characteristics that guided her life, even through her illness, and it is this wisdom that she leaves with her family and friends to carry on.
She leaves her husband, Clarence; her devoted son, Cedric and daughter-in-law, Lisa; grandson Chris of Kernersville, North Carolina; sister, Shirley Duggins of Bronx, New York; nieces, Karen Nelson of Clarksville, Tennessee, Lisa Anderson of Bronx, New York, and Laura Vanderpoole of St. Thomas, Virgin Islands; many grandnieces and grandnephews; and a host of family and friends to mourn her loss.
