I really valued the times we spent together working on our scale car projects together. Doug sure could lay down the House of Kolor. I will miss you Doug. I hope you’re at that modeling workbench in the sky.

Although we never met in person, Doug had an inpact on my life. His friendship, with a very long time model car builder friend of mine, brought his modeling talent with paint to my door step over a thousand miles away from his life. He is truly missed!

I was so sadden to learn of Doug’s passing. He never failed to find a little humor in life and always had a smile and joke for everybody. It was my pleasure to know him as a friend and truly wonderful person. Although I cannot be there in person to honor him, he is in my thoughts and my condolences to all of his family.

I met Doug many years ago at the hobby store. He was a person that was so approchable and the friendship started almost immediately. He had a very sharp wit and always created a smile for those present. He was especially good with the kids and their parents when they came in and in fun teased they child and parents while they looked for a suitable model. He always talked them into the appropiate choice. I only have enough close friends for 5 fingers on my right hand. Doug was one of them. When he left the store, there was a big gap in the reasons to go there. We talk for hours about the hobby and I was even honored enough to be invited to his house for a couple cook-outs. He was one of a couple people that I would always do special favors for like painting or building something he felt he couldn’t do. I am still in shock over his passing and wished I had one more chance to talk to him. I would also like to hear him laugh again which was almost a giggle.I TRULY miss him. God Bless You Doug and for his family I offer my sincerest sympathy.

I met Doug at Warrick Hobbies about 6 years ago. we stayed in touch after he left warrick’s. His passion and love for modeling had a real impact on both my son and I. He was a real motivator for Joeseph, my son. He would build a model and be keen to take it in to get Doug and OD’s seal of approval.
I am sad that Doug chose to leave us. But Joe and I will always remember him with a smile, for his kindness, friendship, and the care he took when talking Joe. Best wishes. Paul Betteridge
