Doug was born on July 21, 1948 in Brooklyn Hospital to the late Edward and Leslie Cambria. He grew up in East Meadow, New York and has lived in South Florida since 1973.

He and his wife, Phyllis, made their home in Coconut Creek, Florida. She stated ” To know Doug was to have a friend for life.” He would do anything for anyone. If you needed him, he’d be there. Doug will be missed. . .
For his quiet humor and strength.
For the way he made you feel protected and loved.
For the care and concern he showed first to Phyllis, the love of his life, to his sisters and brother, and nieces and nephews, and the rest of us.
For the honor he always expressed when speaking of his mother and father.
For the good deeds he spread around his neighborhood.
We and the world are a sadder place without you.
Doug, you will forever be my brother-in-law in spirit!
Love and Prayers,
Ethel

Doug had such an ability to brighten a room and make everyone laugh. One of the most kind-hearted people I have had the pleasure of knowing in my life. Growing up Thanksgivings and Christmases with Doug and the family were a yearly tradition that I will remember fondly and Doug was a big part of that. He will be missed dearly.

Dear Phyllis,
What a beautiful ceremony. Beautiful words of kindness and love expressed by family and friends. The flag ceremony and the playing of taps, while necessary to honor Doug’s service to his country, was heart-wrenching. Doug was blessed to have you by his side during such a difficult time. Our deepest condolences.
With Love,

Dear Phyllis. So heartbroken for you. So sad I couldn’t be there today. Blessed that we were able to meet in Cambria. It was a wonderful gift then and so much more today. Doug was one of a kind. A light in the
lives of everyone he knew. He was blessed to have you by his side. He will be greatly missed and always be in our hearts. Love and condolences.
