Ella Pageotte, Edugène, was born on September 4, 1924. She married Raoul Edugène with whom she had 7 children. She left very early for the United States in the early 60s. She settled in Brooklyn and led her little life alone until the day her husband left to join her with her children.
She was, until 1974, a fervent Catholic, never missing her masses. She left the Catholic faith in 1974, shortly before the funeral of her husband who had made this request just before dying. She became an enthusiastic Protestant, a Baptist
Until the day she left for her Creator on February 13, 2025, she always fought the good fight of faith. She never stopped praying. She firmly believed in God and recited her psalms every day, which she never forgot – until her death.
She experienced the pain of losing her third child, Jacques, on February 25, 2020. She was a very strong, courageous woman, a woman who never gave up, a woman of “great character.” She loved politics—American politics, but especially Haitian politics—and she had a great passion and vision for Haiti. She cared for those around her and believed she could solve “all the problems” of “everyone” around her—even those of people she didn’t know. She had a big heart
She leaves behind her children: Nicole Bury, Pierre Edugène, Ghislaine Eustache,Dr. Winie Edugène Robin, Danielle Edugène, Elsie Strzyzowska, her grandchildren: Martine Bury, Cassandre Bury, Sidney Robin, Jean-Pierre Edugène, Vladimir Robin, Nydia Eustache, Dimitri Robin, Francesca Boulos, Carl-Henri Boulos, Elizabeth Strzyzowska,, Nadine Edugène , Nakita Robin, Sydney Bann, Roman Almazan, her great-grandchildren, Trinity, Felix, Amani, Ferdinand, Ayla, Andrei, Natan, Soryn, Soleil, Isabelle, Johanne, Iris, her younger brother Edner Pageotte, her sons-in-law Carlo Edugène, Gardy Bury, Ermane Robin, Tadeusz Strzyzowski, her nephews and nieces Dr. Michelle Sterlin, Dr. Myriam Sterlin, Johnny Sterlin, Immacula David, Marie Christa Louisdhon, Gesner Carling, Mary Ann Pageotte, Marijude Pageotte, Romel Pageotte ,Chantale Joseph Fabien, Vladimir Sterlin, Vanessa Bouchereau, Annabelle Pageotte, Fabrice Gelin, Giovanni Sterlin, Christopher Sterlin, Alexi Slerlin, the daughters close to her heart Huguette Altiné , Martha Simon, Josette Siclait Cantave, Yolène Gourdet, Denise Etienne, and all the other relatives, allies and friends.
