Euralio Alexander Moncrieffe

September 12, 1941~April 08, 2025

Euralio Alexander Moncrieffe (Monty) was born on September 12, 1941, to Amy and Charles Moncrieffe. Euralio grew up in a very humble, respectable, and loving family and was the first of two sons within the marriage. Euralio was very close to his younger brother Milton, popularly known as Tonnie (deceased), and both grew up in the beautiful town of Castleton, a renowned area within the parish of St. Mary, Jamaica.

Euralio is survived by his beloved wife Angilin Moncrieffe,

Children: Carol, Carl and Judith Moncrieffe

Beloved granddaughter: Arianna John

Nephews: Wayne and Sean Moncrieffe,

And other relatives and loved ones.

Euralio was identified by many names: Rel by his mother and close family members, and friends and loved ones affectionally called him: Alex, Giant, Big Man, Monty, and Quiet.

It was November 12, 1966, following two years of courtship, Euralio married his sweetheart Angilin Rose, and they later welcomed their daughter Judith Ann. Euralio migrated to the USA with their daughter Judith in November 1974 to rejoin his wife Angilin who was first to relocate.

While living in Jamaica, Euralio worked at the New Kingston Sheraton Hotel for many years. Following his migration to the USA, he worked at Bloomingdale’s Department store in Gift Wrapping section. You talk about TORTURE?! That was because Euralio didn’t know a thing about gift wrapping! (smile). Euralio then found employment within the field he loved at the Lexington Hotel located in Manhattan, NY. Euralio later transitioned to the Waldorf Astoria as a banquet waiter. Euralio remained at Waldorf Astoria until he retired June 30, 2015.

Euralio was a generous man. 2 Corinthian 9:11 describes the person he was: “You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion”. Euralio was rich in relationships, rich in wisdom, rich in health, until at 83 years of age, following an acute onset illness which lasted three months, in the early morning of April 8th, at his home, his maker called him to his bosom.

Family was the life of Euralio. Euralio (Rel, Alex, Monty) made it very clear, by showing his love and appreciation to all. In return, we displayed our sincere appreciation, through prayers, love and affection towards him. God prospered him for one reason, and only one, so that he became his instrument to bless others. We gave him his roses while he lived, and for those reasons we are at peace.

Euralio, you will continue to be our guiding angel. You are being held in the bosom of our Maker and our Lord. Sleep in peace – beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friends. You will be greatly missed. We will meet again. We love you always!
