Mr. Frank Edward Watt was a great man. Born in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica August 19, 1923. His company, Watt McDermott & Co, was involved in many projects in Jamaica. They worked on the Palladium Theatre, Beaufort Elementary School, & Montego Bay Senior High School. Hotels included, Half Moon Bay, Royal Caribbean, Montego Bay Towers and The Upper Deck.
Other projects, just to name a few, were Jamaica Mutual, British American Insurance Company, The Barnett Bridge, Trinity Anglican Church and numerous other projects including housing development projects.
He was instrumental in sending his five siblings through college and University. He migrated to the United States in December 1978 and settled in Florida. Here he worked for Babcock Construction Co. He later founded the Allied Contractors of South Florida Inc.
In the late 1980?s he was asked to return to Jamaica to assist in the remodeling of the Fryall Hotel and Golf Club in Hanover. He continued to work on other projects until he retired and returned to his home in North Miami Beach, Florida.
Frank was a Thinker, and enjoyed his retirement by playing golf, listening to classical music, reading, playing dominoes, and keeping in touch with friends and family.
