With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our cherished Fred Goos on January 11, 2026. He was 73 years old. He was born to the late Guard and Audrey Goos on April 3, 1952. He is survived by his wife Judy, daughter Melissa, brother Rich & his wife Kathy, sister Patti, along with many nieces and nephews.
He worked for Southern Bell & retired after 44 years. It was at the start of his career that he met Judy over the phone. That one phone call started the next 50 years of love, laughter, and great memories.
To his wife he was known as her best road trip buddy. He taught her how to enjoy the ride and embrace the backroads. Their enjoyment of sports was then shared with their daughter. The three of them attended many USF games where Dad got to experience the joys of tailgating with his girls.
To his daughter, he will be remembered for the piggyback rides, Christmas shopping adventures, and his impression of Donald Duck. How he would jingle his keys when he was ready to leave because he was getting “annie”.
To his family and friends, Fred was best known for his sense of humor and quick one liners. He was always the funniest guy in the room.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made in Fred’s name to Moffitt Cancer Center.
A Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 17th, 2026, from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, located at 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

I am so sorry to hear the news of Fred’s passing. We worked together in SARTS, I knew his wife Judy too. Such a beautiful family. His absence will be missed. He was the one who kept me laughing during our struggle to survive the move from Miami to Broward. Always a kind word and a gentleman. Definitely one of the good guys. My deepest sympathy and sincere thoughts and prayers to family. May he RIP.
