Geraldine M. Corona, age 74, beloved wife, mother, and friend, died at home on Thursday, December 11, 2008, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on April 19, 1934, in the Town of Robertsdale, Alabama, to the late Thomas and Hazel Dostaler, her family moved to Miami in 1948. Geraldine graduated from Miami Jackson High School in 1952 and on October 23, 1954 she was united in marriage to Carl C. Corona. Gerry and Carl settled in Hollywood and after staying home to raise her three children, she worked as a medical assistant. Her diagnosis and successful treatment of breast cancer in 1985, led to a career at Jodee, Inc. where she counseled and fitted women with post-mastectomy needs.
Geraldine is survived by her husband Carl, of 54 years, children Anthony Corona and Tina Corona-Rawnsley, granddaughter Kelli Corona, brother Joseph Dostaler and wife Dee of Mesa, Arizona, and family pet Caroline. In addition, she was preceded in death by her son Carl Thomas Corona.
Her family and friends remember Geraldine as a kind, loving, and compassionate person. She loved spending time with family and friends, gardening, and visiting Hard Rock Casino to play her favorite slot machines and enjoy live concerts and shows. Geraldine was truly an angel to everyone around her. Sweet Geraldine…you will live in our hearts forever. Thank you for everything that you have ever given us. We love you so much!
Friends may visit from 1-4 PM. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 20th at Boyd’s Hollywood Boulevard Chapel located at 6400 Hollywood Blvd. Hollywood, FL. 33023 954983-6400.

I had the privilege and pleasure of working with Gerri for three years at Jodee Inc. I will never forget her, she meant the world to me. I thought of Gerri as the type of person my mother would have been had she lived to be Gerri’s age, kind, loving, funny, and a pleasure to be with on a daily basis.
My thoughts are with the Corona family at this time of your loss.

Dear Carl and Tina, we want to offer our deepest sympathy and best wishes during this time of great loss.I can’t help but compare Gerry’s passing now , on the brink of a 2nd great depression, to Harry’s passing just before 911. The world seems to suffer when great people pass. When we all go it just might trigger an ice age.
Love,
Barbara Jean and Urbano Hilton.

Dear sister Gerry,
Words are hard to find to express how much I will miss you. You helped me in so many ways growing up with all the memories we shared. You cared for the well being of mama and daddy in their later years. You will be blessed when you meet in heaven with them. You are the star in your loving family that will shine forever. I will live forever with your words in my heart. On earth you were an angel now you have your wings in heaven. Your loving brother, Joe

Dear Uncle Carl, Tina, Tony, Kelli, and Cliff,
I write this with great sadness as I know, each one of you have been profoundly affected by Aunt Gerry’s passing . . .Uncle Carl, your selfless act to honor her desire to let go, knowing it would result in the loss of your very best friend, for most of your life must seem very surreal to you . .Tony and Tina, the unconditional love and support your mom had always shown to you when there was joy in your lives and when bumps appeared in your path, have already been passed on to you, as you lovingly allowed your mom to pass on with dignity and respect . . Kelli, as with my children you had your own very special relationship with your grandmother that will forever be remembered and Cliff . .how nice for my Aunt to know that Tina is so loved and supported by you. On my last visit, I was happy we were all able to get together for a dinner, that no matter how much time goes by, we can always pick up where we left off. I will always remember my Aunt, my godmother and admire the courage and feistiness she displayed throughout her life and especially her illness. As Aunt Gerry continues her journey, I believe Carl Thomas who has patiently waited many years was happily waiting for her. As Aunt Gerry mentioned in my birthday card on her secretarial duties via e-mail, I will have to resend you the notes on how to e-mail Uncle Carl, as I expect a reply from you. I apologize for not being able to celebrate Aunt Gerry’s life on December 20, but know that I was thinking of you all and there in spirit.
My deepest sympathies
Denise
