It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gilberto Garcia, age 83, on January 4, 2022. He was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico, on September 1, 1938, to the late Samuel and Virginia Garcia.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years Isabel; children Sammy, Russell, and Stephanie; sister Ramona; grandchildren Nathanael, Josiah, Steffen, Shayanah, Shamir, Mackenzie, and Bella; and countless extended family and friends.
Gilberto met the love of his life in his early twenties and knew he met a wonderful woman and married her in 1963. They settled in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and started their family and business ventures. The family relocated to Miami, FL, where the family continued to grow with in-laws and grandchildren, and finally where they spent their golden years together.
To know Gilberto was to love him. He had a wit and a sense of humor that would draw you in and cause you to want to spend time with him. He was an incredible husband, father, and grandfather.
Pop, Grandpa, we will miss you. The laughs you brought and the wisdom you shared will always be remembered. You have taken a piece of our hearts with you, but we take comfort we will see you again in the presence of our Lord and Savior.
The Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 11, at 1:00 P.M. at Vive City Chapel/Messiah Worship Center 15651 NW 6th Ave, Miami, FL 33169.

Nathanael’s graduation reunion will hold special meaning to us for it was the last time we saw Gilberto. His smile and wonderful demeanor as always in full display. We chatted, took pictures, hugged and said good bye.
Indeed, our next reunion to be more glorious.
