Gregorio Juan Freyre, lovingly known as Juan, passed away on May 18, 2025, in Tamarac, Florida. Born on May 9, 1963, in Comonfort, GTO, Mexico, Juan was a devoted husband, loving father, and a man whose kindness and open heart touched everyone he met.
Juan was a skilled construction superintendent, whose exceptional craftsmanship and tireless work ethic earned him numerous awards, including the prestigious John E. Custer Craftsmanship Award in 2024. His dedication to quality and precision shone through in every project he took on, and he was deeply respected by colleagues and clients alike. From his humble beginnings in Mexico, Juan worked tirelessly to ensure his family and children had every opportunity to persevere and thrive.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Juan was a man of many passions. He loved fishing, gardening, watching movies with his family, and collecting coins—a hobby that reflected his appreciation for history and detail. His green thumb turned his garden into a vibrant oasis of flowers, fruits, and lush plants. Juan also had a deep love for animals, caring tenderly for his beloved dog Max, cat Ben, and two guinea pigs.
Juan shared a special bond with his brother, Jose, who was like his best friend. Together, they enjoyed grilling, watching soccer, hockey, and Formula 1 racing—pastimes that brought them laughter and joy. Though he lived far from his other siblings—Cesar, Rosalba, Alejandro, and Araceli—he always held them close in his heart, cherishing their bond across the miles.
Juan’s greatest pride and joy was his family. He was married to Luz, also known as Marina, and was a devoted father to his daughter Rachel, born in 2003. He also lovingly raised his son, Omar, as his own. Juan loved all of his children, including Susan and Jonathan. He took his family on trips to Orlando, Tennessee, Marco Island, the Keys, and more, always making sure they had everything they needed and creating memories they will treasure forever. He was a giver in every sense.
Juan was a beloved son to Francisca Barron, who survives him, and a cherished brother to Rosalba, Jose, Cesar, Alejandro, and Araceli. He treasured every connection with his loved ones.
Juan will be remembered for his warm smile, his laughter, and the love he shared so freely. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
