Harry S. Steinert DAVIE, FL Harry S. Steinert, 93, formerly of Hamilton, died on Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018, at his home in Davie, FL, surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Steinert was an honorably discharged U.S. Army veteran who served as a pilot in the Army Air Corps during World War II. After the war, he returned home and became a well-known businessman and entrepreneur. He was the owner of H.S. Steinert, Inc., an excavating and construction company which was instrumental in developing many parts of Hamilton. Along with his father, Samuel Steinert, and brother, Joseph Steinert, he built the Whitehorse Bowling Academy which is known today as the Whitehorse Commercial Park. In addition to his many business interests, he also had the waste management contract for Hamilton Township for several years. Mr. Steinert’s grandfather was honored by Hamilton when the Joseph S. Steinert High School East, now known as Nottingham High School, was built on land he donated to ensure additional education opportunities for the children of Hamilton Township. He also was the first school bus contractor in Mercer County and served on the Hamilton Township Zoning Board for many years. He was a 48-year member of Gothic-Fraternal Lodge #270 F&AM, charter member of Hamilton BPOE Lodge 2262, Hamilton Township Lions Club, and was the recipient of the Hamilton Distinguished Achievement Entrepreneur Award. In his spare time, he loved flying, fishing and boating and always loved going back and forth from Point Pleasant to Fort Lauderdale each year on the inland waterway. Predeceased by his parents, Samuel and Myrtle A. Steinert; his wife, Ruth (Bird) Steinert; and his brother and sister-in-law, Joseph Steinert and Elizabeth Steinert Royce, he is survived by his wife, Priscilla “Penny” (Rudderow) Steinert; his daughter and son-in-law, Connie Danielle (Steinert) Wilson and Daniel M. Wilson; his granddaughter, Danielle Ruth Wilson and her wife, Susan L. Temple; his son and daughter-in-law, Samuel and Joanne Steinert; his grandson, Samuel Steinert; his step-daughters, Cheryl (Rudderow) Hannon and her husband, Troy, and Amy (Rudderow) Bross and her husband, Christopher; his step-grandchildren, Tara and Taylor Hannon and Samantha and Jack Bross; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held in New Jersey. Arrangements in Florida entrusted to Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
