Our thoughts and prayers have been with you all while you have been with grandma these last weeks and especially during her last days. It’s a blessing that she had such a long and full life to share. The devotion of her daughters, my aunts, especially in her later years is inspiring and I honor you all for that. Although we weren’t close in distance, she was very loved by our side of the family, and I am very grateful for the few but memorable opportunities I had to vist with her throughout my life. What a remarkable lady she was. I know that along with Dad, Mom also loved her very much, and I’m very glad that my brothers were able to attend her service. I regret that my children did not have the opportunity to meet her in person, but am gratefull that little Dante and Bechet enjoyed chatting with her on the phone so much. We will all miss being able to hear her voice, but in our faith know that we can speak to her in our prayers. God bless you Grandma Ida.

To Ida Proto’s loving family: Your Mother was such a pleasant person to converse with on the telephone. Always very polite, and interested on how you were feeling. She sure had excellent care from all of you. I know she loved all of you very much. She is in a better place, and very happy! God bless all of you. Rosemary

Dear Grandma,
I have always cherished the times spent with you as an adult and as a child. I was very blessed to grow up and live very near you. I got to see you often and spent many special holidays with you as did the rest of my siblings. I will never forgot those happy, memorable times. You have taught me a lot with your love, patience, and understanding. You opened your home not only to family, but friends, neighbors, and anyone who needed a little help. I could listen for hours of your stories of Italy and your life here in America. What a remarkable lady!
We love you Grandma, and we will miss you!
Love,

Grandma:
How can I put into words how much you will be missed. You taught me and my children so many things. You were always so accepting of people and patient with our faults. Your stories will be remembered always and I will pass them on for generations to come. You are now in heaven with Grandpa and all our friends and relatives who were waiting for you. You are our angel. I will carry you in my heart always.

I just wish to express my sincere condolences. I don’t know if any of you remember me or not, but Ted and I were close friends at one time. He used to work with me at Winn Dixie. I was shocked to see that he too had passed. I would love for someone to contact me when possible at 954-981-3046. Again, my sincere condolences…
