Ioan Albota, 77, of Hollywood, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on May 5, 2025. Born on May 19, 1947, in Arad, Romania, he was the beloved son of the late Ioan Albota and Anna Muntean.
In search of new opportunities, Ioan immigrated to the United States, first settling in Detroit, Michigan, before making Hollywood, Florida his cherished home in 1997. A skilled and hardworking commercial truck mechanic, Ioan dedicated most of his life to his trade, earning the respect of colleagues and customers alike.
Florida suited Ioan’s spirit perfectly. He found great joy in the sunshine, the sea, and the rhythm of daily beach life. Whether walking, biking, or swimming, he made the most of every day along the coast. The beach wasn’t just a place of peace—it was where he connected with many dear friends who became like family to him. A passionate soccer fan, Ioan never missed a chance to follow the sport he loved.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Rodica. Though he had no close living relatives of his own, Ioan embraced Rodica’s family and their many years of shared friendships as his true family. He will be remembered for his kind heart, strong work ethic, and the quiet joy he brought to those around him.
Ioan was deeply grateful for the care and compassion shown by his physician, Dr. Emil Matei, and for the enduring friendship of Ovidiu Topana, whose closeness and support meant so much.
