Ivy K. Archer, 78, died after a long battle with health problems April 22, 2021, at Memorial Season Hospice Care. She was born November 3, 1942, in Jacmel, Haiti, daughter of Gaston Bellande and Nina (Lamarque) Bellande.

Ivy graduated from Lycee des Jeunes Filles in Port-au-Prince, Haiti and emigrated shortly afterwards to NY, NY. After nearly a decade in the United States, Ivy moved to Canada to be closer to family. Ivy spent over 15 years in Montreal and decided to move to Florida to enjoy the sunshine and beaches. It is in Florida that she reconnected with and subsequently married Jean-Claude Archer, to whom she remained happily married until her final days for over 26 years.

Ivy’s passions were her Catholic faith, complicated crosswords, watching the Miami Heat and preparing big meals for family and friends. There was always a place for one more at her table. Her door was always open to loved ones that needed a place to stay, whether it be a short visit or several months to years.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister, Rose-Marie Abran and brother, James Bellande. Surviving in addition to her husband, Jean-Claude Archer, are her four children, Fabienne, Edouard and his wife Sandra, Maxim and his wife Caroline and Eric and his wife Katelyn; 14 grandchildren, Kathleen, Kristeena, Mykell, Dyandrah, Kieran, Kristopher, Kaily, Asia, Tristyn-Jacob, Kameron, Kourtland, Savannah, Maverick and Lawton; two great-grandchildren, Jude and Jackson; and her siblings and their families, Griselda Bayard, Frederick Bellande and Suzie Bellande.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 starting at 4:00 PM with Tributes Of A Lifetime at 5:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 North University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
