Jacinto Armando Lopez of Hollywood, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, January 18 th , 2023, at the age of 95. After suffering from an unexpected decline in Health,
Jacinto died peacefully with his beloved family by his side.
Jacinto was born in Cuba, on September 11 th, 1927, to Father Antonio Lopez and Mother Gregoria Lopez. The oldest of 12 siblings, 5 brothers and 7 sisters. At the young
age of six years old Jacinto helped out his Abuelo (Grandfather), Herman, at his farm that was located in La Provencia de Villa Clara. Where he learned how to harvest, and
crop sugar cane, tame wild horses, and milk the cows. Jacinto enjoyed and worked so hard at his Abuelo’s farm up until the age of 20 years old. Jacinto then enlisted in the
Cuban Military and stayed enlisted for 7 years. While in the Military he earned many medals as a sharp shooter and marksman in weapons (in short and long arms).
During his time in the Military, he met the Love of his Life, Rosa, at the county fair. During this night at the fair, Jacinto and Rosa shared nothing but looks . No words
were said until they both finally worked up the courage to speak to one another. Jacinto said he would come by and see Rosa again, but Rosa’s family was on the fence
if he would even show up. He showed and they spoke on her porch for hours after asking Rosa’s Mother and Father for permission. Jacinto was determined and showed
up every day and any chance he could. He waited until his time in the Military was up, and decided not to re-enlist and married Rosa.
After Jacinto and Rosa married, Jacinto started his own business and became a chauffeur. Jacinto was a popular Taxi driver in Cuba. Everyone wanted to loan and be
chauffeured around in his car. When he would ask why, he would get told that it was the cleanest car in all of Cuba. Jacinto had so many memories and stories he would share.
One he remembers very vividly and it was when he almost had to aid the birth of a baby in his Car. A stranger he picked up on the side of the road. But that is who Jacinto was, an
honorable man.
Shortly after, Jacinto and Rosa, gave birth to (Daughter) Cari and (Son) Alex. They enjoyed Cuba for a short period of time with their two children before taking the first
opportunity they had and fled Cuba. With 8 dollars in his pocket, Jacinto, Rosa and their two children arrived in New Jersey. Jacinto worked at a Steel Mill, Carboard
Company, and as a Superintendent for the apartment they lived in. He worked all three jobs to be able to provide for his family so that his children could attend a
Catholic School. Jacinto was never the man to accept any handouts. He did all that he could to be sure his wife and two children never went without. His value of work ethics
will forever be passed on to all his generations. Jacinto was a man of many talents and if he simply was not sure, he learned on his own and always succeeded in all aspects of
his life. As a Son, Husband, Father and Friend.
Jacinto and his family were only in New Jersey for a short period of time before he packed up his family and drove straight to Florida in his 1969 Buick Electra 225 and
never looked back. Jacinto continued to be a hardworking man and made sure his children were given the best education and his wife could enjoy her passion as a
musician. Jacinto worked as a Concrete Foreman for 35 years. He made amazing concrete statues and travelled everywhere in South Florida to deliver them. Always on
time, and never late.
Jacinto was given the greatest 95 years of life. He cherished everyday as if it would be his last. He never held a grudge. He was and always will be a Respectable Man. Never
the man to raise his voice, or speak any ill of others. Jacinto held on for 4 years after his love of his life, Rosa, passed away. Jacinto lived on for his Children, Grandchildren,
Great-Grandchildren and Animals. He was a man that never wanted to live without a plan. As his Health declined, he moved in with his Son at his farm and
enjoyed his end of life surrounded by his family.
Jacinto is survived by his Children: Alejandro Armando Lopez (Wife; Cary Lopez), Caridad Salome Jimenez and Armando Lopez. Grandchildren: Katrina Fundora (Spouse; Eric).
David Picado (Spouse; Stephanie), Alex Lopez (Spouse; Michelle), and Amanda Torres (Spouse; Michael); and Great-grandchildren: Rose, Addison, Isabella, Gabriella,
Juliette, and Kamila.
As I, Amanda Torres, conclude this obituary for my loving Grandfather, I want to say that my sweet Grandfather was one of the kindest men I have ever met. He would give
you the shirt off of his back. His generosity was limitless. He was a smart man and he worked hard for everything he had. He would nod his head and say something like “la
ley de la vida.” Which means this is the Law of Life. Aside from my parents, he is the only person that has known me my whole life. It’s surreal to think he will no longer be here! I have been very blessed to have him as a grandpa I will treasure the memories I have of him. But God Saw Him Tired and he wrapped his Arm around him and told him “It was time to come home”. God proved to us, that He only takes the best.
You will forever be our Hero. I love you and gracias a dios y la vaca pinta.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all today… Papi,(..which is what I always called him, He reminded me so much of my own Dad in so many ways ) 😊was such a friendly, kind and caring man.I never saw him without a smile on his face and never heard him speak anything but kind words. I would watch him sweeping his porch and driveway every morning and sometimes again in the evening. And taking care of his cats, which is a love we shared😍 He was a hard worker and proud of his home and even more so of his family. I remember the years when I would make bring him Christmas cookies and his whole face would light up. And he would smile and say”Thank You Mama” and that made me happy knowing that I made him smileHe truly was a one of a kind and Heaven gained another angel when he went back home. I have great memories of the times him and my Dad spent together talking( even though my Dad didn’t know enough Spanish to really understand it all) It was like an unspoken language between 2 old friends. And I’d like to think that are carrying on their conversations in Heaven and smiling. He will be missed. Much love to you all and may this sweet man Rest In Peace🙏❤️
