James Alan Rodgers, 69, of Miramar, Florida, passed away suddenly on February 27, 2025. While his time here was cut short, he certainly made the most of every moment.
James was born in Darby, Pennsylvania and moved to Hollywood, Florida, at the age of five and quickly learned the value of hard work, growing up in his father’s moving company. He later went into business with his best friend, proving that work and laughter could go hand in hand.
More than anything, James was a family man. His greatest pride and joy were his daughters, Kathryn and Alex. He wasn’t just a provider—he was their biggest cheerleader, protector, and constant source of love and wisdom. Whether it was late-night heart-to-hearts, teaching life lessons with his signature humor, or simply being there through every milestone, James nurtured his daughters with unwavering support. He believed in them fiercely and made sure they always knew they were capable of anything.
James also had a gift for connecting with people. He never met a stranger—only a friend he hadn’t gotten to know yet. Whether through business or everyday life, he thrived on bringing people together, sharing stories, and making lasting connections. If there was an opportunity to network, lend a hand, or simply brighten someone’s day, James was the first to step up.
He was charismatic, generous, and the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back (and probably tell you a great story while doing it). He was dependable, always there when you needed him, and had a way of making life feel just a little bit brighter.
James is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca Rodgers, his devoted daughters, Kathryn and Alex Rodgers, and his sisters, Marylou Prieto, Constance Mears, and Nancy Rodgers-Leiva. His legacy of love, family, and connection will live on in all who knew him.
In honor of James, take a moment to reach out to someone, make a new connection, or remind your loved ones just how much they mean to you—just as he always did.
A Memorial Gathering of family and friends will be on Friday, March 7th, 2025 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Boyd-Panciera’s University Drive Chapel located at 1600 North University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida, 33024
