Bracken, James E., 90, of Southwest Ranches passed away Saturday, April 19, 2008. He is survived by his wife Micki; 4 children, Darlene Greenwald, Bob, Candace Bracken, Lynn Black, Bill; 8 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren, He was predeceased by his son James Jr.. Jim was a renowned name in Thoroughbred Horse Racing for over 78 years. During his career he won numerous awards and accolades, including induction into the Trainers Hall of Fame, named Trainer of the Year numerous times, and his dedication and knowledge of the industry was well respected and sought after. Friends may visit from 6:30 – 8:00 PM, Thursday at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel. Funeral Services will be 8:00 PM, Thursday, Apr. 24, 2008 at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel.

I had worked for Mr. Bracken in 1993 as an execise rider at Calder Race Course. He was a good trainer to work for and learn from. Rest gently Mr. B.
