THOMPSON, James L. Jim, a resident of Florida since 1970, passed away on January 19, 2005 in Pembroke Pines, Florida, at 74 years of age following a short illness.

Mr. Thompson was born in Pittsburgh, PA, the son of James L. and Odessa S. Thompson. Mr. Thompson is the beloved husband of Theresa; loving father of James Thompson, Judy Collins and Jacqueline Sommerville; cherished grandfather of James and David Thompson, David Collins, Paul Sommerville; and great-grandfather of Serena Thompson-Cardoza; brother of Thomas D. Thompson of Vanderbilt, PA; Suzanne Zirot of Ambridge, PA; and late brother, Robert ?Jack? Thompson of Dunedin, FL.

Jim was a big man with an even bigger heart and had a tremendous zest for life. His family, extended family and dear friends were his greatest joy.

Funeral arrangements will be handled by Jefferson Memorial Cemetery and Funeral Home, 401 Curry Hollow Road, Pittsburgh, PA 412 655-4501. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 29, 2005 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Memorial service to be held on Sunday, January 31, 2005, at 12:00 p.m.
