James Rivera, a loving husband, father, son and brother, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on October 16, 2017. He was 66 years old. James was born in New York City, New York, to the late Rafael Rivera and Laura (Schmaltzride) LaTorella. After graduating high school, James, enlisted into the US Navy and proudly served until being honorably discharged. He is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Lois Rivera; sons, Brian Rivera and Jesse Rivera; mother, Laura LaTorella; brothers, David (Pauline) Rivera and Anthony (David) LaTorella.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2017, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. with Tributes of a Lifetime Service at 2:00 p.m. at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel.
