James “Jim” William Brandt of Ft. Lauderdale passed away December 01, 2020, of natural causes. He was born on July 27, 1944 in Waynesville, Missouri to Fred and Nila Brandt. Jim is preceded in death by his parents and his older brother Terry. He is survived by the love of his life of 56 years Nancy (Smith) Brandt, sons James Jr and his wife Vanessa, Jeff and his wife Shari, 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, brother Dana, sisters Beverly Smith, Valda Shackleford and many great friends.

Jim was many things to many people- While Father, Grandfather and great grandfather brought him immense joy- He would be the first to tell you being Husband to Nancy Brandt was his greatest accomplishment. After meeting and courting Nancy for a little over two years, they began their life together in Vienna, Missouri. After fifty-six years of marriage Jim and Nancy were still the best of friends. Together they traveled the world, and most recently the continental United states, for their 50th wedding anniversary. Jim and Nancy shared a beautiful life together, building a strong, close family and enjoying everything life has to offer.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s children’s research center. A cause that Jim and Nancy cared very much for.  St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital
