Jared Ayers, 84, passed away after a lengthy illness, on January 26, 2014. Born in Asheville, NC, on June 28, 1929. Jared was raised with his brother Herbert Boyd and cousin Glenn on the family farm in Rowland NC. As a young man, Jared served honorably in the US Air Force in England for four years. Afterwards he took a job at Eastern Airlines and remained with that company for over 30 years. Along the way he got married to Muriel Elizabeth “Beth” nee Maier Ayers. They had two sons. Jared built a life in Pembroke Pines, Florida for his wife and family. As a Pembroke Pines resident, he served on the City Council as Councilman and Vice-Mayor. After retirement and the death of his wife Muriel, he moved to Rowland, NC where he became reacquainted with high school friend, Mrs. Jean Perkins of Laurinburg NC. Together they shared their lives until illness forced Jared to return to Florida. He was predeceased by his loving wife Muriel Elizabeth nee Maier Ayers and his brother Herbert Boyd. He is survived by his sons Thomas Carl Carolyn and Brad Andrew. Jared had three grandchildren Patrick Thomas, Christine Michelle, and Christopher Michael. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1, from 5-8 p.m. with Service at 7:00 p.m. at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Blvd. Chapel.
