It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Freeman (Jeff) , beloved teacher and passionate educator, who passed away on April 30th, 2025 at the age of 61.

He was a cherished member of the Hollywood Hills High School community, where he dedicated his life to teaching and inspiring students.

Mr. Freeman you always treated me great and I miss our conversations. I thank you and appreciate you for all you did for me and our cadets at Hills. You are surely missed and thought about often. Your last call was with me telling me that you were going to do the ice bucket challenge and I challenged you. I was so ready and excited to see that. You impacted all of us and we are still so sad and heartbroken to see you gone.

Mr. Freeman, your humor and wisdom left a lasting impression on me. I loved all the wall quotes in your room and we would spend time talking about them and the students. It was always from a loving and caring place. I was blessed by the knowledge you so generously shared—lessons I will carry with me always. I will deeply miss our conversations. RIP Freeman.

Mr. Freeman, your sharp wit and sarcasm were more than just humor—they were a lifeline during some of my toughest times. Your ability to make people laugh, even in difficult moments, was a gift. I’ll always be grateful for the wisdom you shared and the strength you unknowingly gave me through your humor.

To be honest, I’m at a loss…Mr. Freeman I never got to thank for helping me. Making me feel belong and awakened a new passion for script writing and directing…but I will treasure the special moments that we had with STV and know that we’ll all miss you…R.I.P Mr. Freeman till we meet again.

Mr. Freeman was a great source of inspiration and encouragement in my senior year at Hills. He always encouraged my creativity and was welcoming and accepting in ways that a lot of other educators weren’t. In a time where I was struggling, he made me feel welcome and appreciated through STV, and his classroom was a place I found myself in often. I’ll never forget the lengths he went to to ensure I had the room to grow. Letting me paint his wall, including me in STV despite me not being able to attend meetings, and being a constant source of connection. You and your special way of getting through will be missed dearly, Mr. Freeman.
