I regularly read obituaries but missed the “Jesse” name for the man I knew as “J. Leon”. I just got the news of his death from a voicemail message. I believe that I am the last lawyer Leon hired at Allsate, as I started on December 27, 1987 and he retired the following March. I met many members of the Miami Legal community over coffee with Leon. He had many fascinating stories and I admired him a lot for what he had done. The office he founded has my name on the door now but I will always remember him as a part of our operation. All my best to his family.

I was very sorry to hear of Leon’s passing. I was hired in 1976 and we had many years together going to lunch, coffee and discussing legal issues. He also knew a lot of history and had many interesting stories about WW2.
He was an intelligent and very interesting person and a fine human being.

I was deeply saddened to learn of Leon’s passing. I will always be grateful to him for giving me a chance when he hired me as an attorney for Allstate. His work built the foundation of Allstate’s staff counsel in Florida. We worked together for several years and I have fond memories of the lunches, coffees and legal discussions that we shared. My thoughts and prayers are with Jane and their family.
