Joanne Thompson

March 31, 1953~July 29, 2023

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved aunt, Joanne (Jodi) Thompson. She entered into eternal rest on July 29th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

She is survived by her nieces Tracey Mountjoy-Cross (Chris), Kimberley Gillen (Vince), and Julienne Mountjoy. Great nieces Courtney Cross and Ava Gillen. Great nephews Aiden Gillen, Christopher Cross, and Camerin Cross. Preceded in death by her mother Bernice B. Thompson, father Joseph W. Thompson, sister Linda J. Thompson, and niece Erin E. Mountjoy.

Joanne was a cherished daughter, sister, aunt, great aunt, and friend. Her warm smile and caring nature touched the lives of all who knew her. She faced life with courage, love, and grace, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and compassion. She lived her life selflessly, always taking care of others before herself.
She had a great talent and passion for sewing and crafts, which gave her immense joy. Making crafts for and with her great nieces and nephews brought endless happiness to her life.

A memorial service to celebrate Joanne’s life will be held on August 19th, 2023 from 2-4pm at Boyd Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N University Dr, Pembroke Pines, FL 33024

Family and friends are invited to remember and honor the beautiful and loving soul that she was. May she rest in eternal peace, reunited with her loved ones who have gone before her.

We love you so very much dear Jodi,

Kim and Tracey ❤️

I am missing my friend so much, but am at the same time happy she is no longer suffering. She was a beautiful person inside and out…always looking on the bright side…and will be sorely missed. 💔

My heart is broken that you are no longer with us. I will cherish the wonderful memories that I have with you. Life feels empty without you. Thank you for being such a big part of my life and always showing me so much love. I LOVE you and miss you sooo very much Jodi!

I loved looking at the lovely montage of photos you put together. She was a talented craftswoman. In 2011, I boarded a flight to NYC with one of Jodie’s BabyCakes creations as a gift and decoration for grandson’s baby shower. The BabyCake received compliments from passengers as I told them I could not take credit for it. Jodie will be missed. My earliest memory of her is sitting at the kitchen table doing her third grade homework and greeting me with that beautiful smile! Cherish the good memories❣️🙏🏻💕

Kim & Tracey – I’m so very sorry for your and the family’s loss. There are no words to ease the pain but I’m praying for you, love you guys dearly and I’m always here for you.. I love Aunt Jodi like my own aunt. She was so sweet, kind and wonderful – such a beautiful soul – inside and out. She always had a smile on her face and it lit up the room:. Heaven gained a lovely angel and she will watch over you guys until you meet again. Until then, I hope and pray you can find some comfort in your loving memories.
