Dad, I always used to think that it was just cliche to say that you can feel a loved one’s presence around you, once they’re gone. But now I know that it’s not just something people say for the hell of it; it’s actually the truth. When I picture you now, you look the way you do in this picture. I hear your voice as loud and proud as it was before. I would give just about anything to live one more full day with you as the happy person you once were. However, I know you’re in a place of eternal happiness now. You’re surrounded by your parents, siblings, and friends that had gone before you. Things are just better where you are. It’s only been a few days, and I’ve had countless meltdowns missing the good ol’ days, but Sean and I both know you’re where you need to be. I’m grateful to have taken care of you and had the time we shared before you had to go. This void in my heart now will never be filled, but I think as long as I keep your memory alive and keep my music loud, I’ll be okay knowing I’m making you proud. I love you. I love you. I love you. Xo, Panda

I remember Johnny as a kind and fun-loving father and friend. I taught both Amanda and Sean at St. Bernadettte School where Johnny was my "room dad". He was perfect for the job, just as he was for playing Santa year after year!!! You were one of my favorite South Florida people, Johnny. Rest In Peace,

I will always help keep your memory alive Johnny, I have a lifetime of classic stories and great memories to share with family and friends! I really thought you would be around always, I know that sounds silly, but true. Now, I know you are at peace in Heaven and free of any pain. You always were a unique free spirit, soar, you are home! I know you are restored and in great company there. Peace and Love. XO

I didn’t know John as well as I would liked to have, as I only had a little over the past year to get to know him. But I was very impressed and left in awe of all the accomplishments, funny things, situations, and experiences, I have heard from himself, Amanda and Sean. To grow up having a dream to be in radio and succeeding your dream is something rare to be proud of. Not many get to do that. My jaw dropped at his music collection and vast array of music memorabilia. He seemed to live a very fulfilled life of doing what he loved, meeting many different musicians, and people of all personalities. He must have done something right along the way because his kids turned out to be very good people. He was very nice to me, and I hope he knew how much I appreciated him. And although the circumstances weren’t the best, I’m glad I had the honor of being with him during his last days. My sincere condonlences go out to Amanda and Sean, and all that was impacted by him and his life.

Never could I have imagined that after listening to Johnny Dolan in the late seventies when we were teenagers that we would meet at church when we were in our late fifties. He was one great disc jockey. Sleep in peace Johnny until we meet again.

Johnny was a bright and shining, caring, man who loved South Florida radio that he mentored a few to follow his lead. Our lifelong friendship goes back to my teens. He will always be remembered for his wit that everyone whom he came in contact with loved. Johnny has the golden microphone now and his spirit is with us all. I love you Johnny and as you always said "The show must go on"

I am so sorry to hear this. I met John back in the 70s. He was living down on bird td. And trying to get his career going. He was real tight with bill bege and Robert boone. They had such dreams. They began working at this station over on 27th street in Hialeah right by filer jr. High. We would pass by the station almost everyday walking home from school. We all hung out for quite a few years. I remember he took off for Immokalee to dj. Then he got the job at WGTR and then shotgun Johnny Dolan at WKIS. I would run into him in different places and we would reminisce. He was a legend in my mind! My sincerest condolences to his family.

RIP my friend. It was always fun when you were on the air opposite me when we both worked at clear channel. We would come into eachothers studios and just talk about music and all the old clubs from back in the 80’s. The fun continued when you would come by CD Heaven and we would talk for what seemed like hours about what we both loved which was radio and music. Keep on playing the hits in heaven Johnny! RIP!

Johnny Dolan was my bud! We dated in Miami in the 70’s. He was the best! Always kept me laughing. We had the best time drinking white wine, St. Jacob,
and of course, listening to music…
Sugar Hill… He had the most albums I had ever seen! And he loved them all!
I will forever miss u Johnny and our incredible, young, fun times together☺️
