John W. Cahill (aka Jack) of Hallandale, Florida passed away peacefully at age 86.  He was born in Pittsburgh, PA to the late John and Lorretta Cahill and was predeceased by his wife, Sally Cahill.  Jack was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan, even after moving to Florida in the early 1980’s.  In Florida, he was active in the Elks Lodge and was a past Exalted Ruler for the Hollywood West Lodge.  He was also a proud member of the American Legion and was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.

Jack was always an optimist with a smile and a story for everyone he met.  He always made people smile and laugh even up to his last days.  He will be missed by many but never forgotten.

He is survived by his sons Michael and Raymond, sister Laverne, brother Charlie, grandchildren Kristen, Lisa, Nicole, and Daniel, two great-grandchildren Evan and Abby, and his dear friend Gigi Cahill.

Due to the pandemic, no services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the American Lung Association, or the Disabled American Veterans.

I knew Jack for 13+ years, the whole time I worked for his son Ray. He was utterly delightful and quite witty. He loved to make people laugh. He will be missed by many. To know him was to like him. Diane J. Packard
