I didn’t know John but I work with Katrina, and knowing how great she is means that John must have been a great father and great person. I hope you all are able to remember the best of times and celebrate him fully.

I got to know John as an AARP Tax Aide Volunteer for the last 3 or 4 years, a great human being, compassionate and free of worries. After receiving a farewell email from him to let us know about his health condition, we showered him with gratitude and appreciation for his kindness and his big heart. I’m so glad I had the opportunity to meet such a sweet and wonderful person. John we’ll see you one day!!

I worked with John as an AARP tax preparer at The SWRL Regional library foand r over 5 years. Though older than him, his encouraging words to me to help others pushed me forward still rings in my ears. I will miss him, his constant smile and encouraging words to everyone around him.
May his soul merge with God and be in peace!

I didn’t know Mr. Heckman but I know his wife, Prop. Working with Prop allowed me to see her sweet spirit and I’m most certain that his spirit was sweet as well. Condolences and prayers for your family and friends…rest well.

I have volunteered in AARP with John for the past 4 years in the Sheridan Library. He was a very friendly and kindhearted person and always ready to help when needed. He was a compassionate and happy person. While it is sad and unfortunate that John nis no longer with us, I will cherish the good times we spent together. May his soul rest in peace.
