Joe was one of the finest Christians I have ever met. He spoke of his faith in Christ, but more importantly, he LIVED it. I am so very sorry for your loss. We lost a great man of faith at ECC and a true friend. I will miss his booming voice rejoicing in song at church, and his words of encouragement.
My thoughts, prayers and love are with the entire family.

Joe taught so many to wear a bunker coat and an apron, but the type of character he possessed and instilled is the very reason I feel honored to put on both.

Joe you have been my families strength through some difficult times. When my dad passed away, you were there for my family like no one else was. Days I thought I was not going to make it you were there to get me through. You have been around since I can remember, you were one of my dads best friends and fellow firefighter brothers. I will never forget you. Thank you Joe for everything you have done, you will be forever missed and loved.

I have known Joe D. since 1986. He was my teacher, friend, boss, and my brother in Christ.
I was with him in Spirit when he lost his Dad, on the job with him in Spirit when he lost his daughter, and with him in Spirit when Judy went home to be with The Lord.
Now I sit contently knowing that theres no more tears, no more pain, no more sin and sorrow ever known again. No more fear, no more shame, my brother Joe D, Heavy D, has come face to face with Jesus and heard Jesus say ” Well Done Good and Faithful Servant enter in your Mansion awaits.
Amazing Grace, how sweet that sounds.
The Bible says that we are to rejoice with those who rejoice and mourn with those who mourn. My heart goes out with much love to all the Family members and friends who mourn the loss of our Brother.
1 Thessalonians 4:15-18 says “For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. For The Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, and the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet The Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with The Lord. Therefore comfort one another with these words.
The same LOVE that unites believers in this life will unite believers when Christ returns and reigns for ETERNITY.

I worked with Chief D at the Pembroke Pines Fire Department Administration until he retired in 2003. He was a mentor and a friend. I remember how he loved to whistle tunes as he walked through the hallways here. He came to my wedding at Dave and Busters all dressed up in his finest Key West garb. That’s how I will remember him. My prayers and regards go out to his family. I can only imagine their feeling of loss. May God hold them closely during this time of sorrow.

I had the pleasure of knowing Joe for quite some time, but more recently I have had the pleasure of knowing Joe as my daughter’s stepfather and Alison’s husband. The man I knew was a devoted Christian, a devoted family man and a wonderful father figure for my daughter Mackenzie. Joe was a wonderful man and my thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Dick & I met Joe for the first time at Mackenzie’s birthday party. We spent alot of time with Joe that day and after speaking with him, it was easy to see what a wonderful man he was. His faith in God was evident and the love and joy he felt having Alison and Mackenzie in his life couldn’t have made us happier. We are sorry that our granddaughter and Alison didn’t have the gift of time, but they did have Joe’s love, and that can never be taken away. Joe will be with you always.

My friend Joey D. I will miss the golf games we played together and how good you were to me when starting at B.F.A. I learned so much from you. To your family, I am so sorry that I will be out of town when Joe is laid to rest. I know that he is in heaven and with God and will be in our hearts forever.

My wife and I offer our sincere sympathy to your entire family, especially Allison, Mackenzie, Sheila and Joseph.
Since 1977, Joe D. always offered support and helped me several times. He was there when my father and mother died, divorce, my wedding to Mary, and his guidance to my son, like an uncle through his life and career. I saw how his own family crises seemed to make him stronger. Big “D” touched so many of us and his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
Remember Joe’s everlasting strength and support he offered all of us. Today we must all help each other, by gathering that strength he showed us and help each other.
We will miss his laugh, sense of humor, golfing, playing cards and listening to his sincere love of God. He was a very good man and he was our friend, and we loved him, and I am proud to have been his friend.
Although we are thousands of miles away in PEI, Canada, our hearts and prayers are with you.

Our sincerest sympathy and condolences to the entire family. As the daughter of Tony Arcuri, “Joey D” was a household name to us… Now that I am much older and have seen what a wonderful friend Joey has been to my dad, and a supporter of my brother and husband’s fire careers, I can only say that we have been blessed to have him in our lives. You will be missed, but never far, as I know that you will always be supporting and protecting those that you loved around you… it’s just what you do.

Joe…you and your family have meant so much to me and my family! Your faith made my faith stronger! You made me want to know Christ on a deeper level. Christmas Eve and the Super Bowl will never be the same. I loved our last visit to your house and dinner last week…a memory I will hold close to my heart. No matter what was going on in your life you would say “I am blessed and highly favored!”. I still hear you singing that last Sunday on earth. Well I am blessed and highly favored to have known you! Saying goodbye for now and will see you in heaven one day! Prayers and love to your family xxoo

Today I was informed of Joes passing I was deeply saddened. Joey and I workrd together at the Sunrise Fire Dept in 1973 along with Paul Lagala and others. After I left and went to Davie Fire dept, I always kept up with Joey’s progress. We would run into each other every now and then. I knew he would go far in the fire service. When I knew joey he was all firefighter, he will be greatly missed in the fire service. My thoughts and prayers are with the family and the members of his brother and sister firefighters
