Today is one week since I lost my big brother. We didn’t always see eye to eye, but you always had my back, and my heart. I have read all the kind words people wrote of you, but I think of the little boy that pulled out the chair for his second grade teacher everyday, the adolescent that was as tall as his little league coaches, and the time you were ten and cracked the bat with that hit, the teenager that wasn’t too embarrassed to walk in the stands and kiss his Mom at every football game, the young man that didn’t buy his family a bunch of Christmas gifts and chose to buy food for a homeless shelter instead, a father who showed nothing but pride for his son. I will always remember spring break 85, and i am so blessed that we took our cruise in March. My brother, my confidante and my friend…not sure what I am gonna do without you big bro!!! I love you and I will always look out for Josh now you can take care of my baby. You will forever be in my heart, I love youyou

It seemed like yesterday we were kids planning parties and tony always laughing , or making a joke. His favorite was pushing his little sisters Sue’s buttons. Always in fun. Everyone at our High School, Warren High knew, or heard of Tony Phipps. I know his family and all of his friends will miss him dearly. He had the most sweet natural smile. You could not help but smile with him. May God have his arms wrapped around him as he was welcomed into heaven. Too soon. But, God’s will. Until we meet again.

I have been around the Phipps family for 40 yrs, ever since Sue and I met in kindergarten. I grew up with Tony and after my own big brother moved out of state, Tony offered to be my big brother…to be there for whatever I needed. I never forgot that offer. I saw how Sue adored her big brother over the years. Tony always made sure he said hi to me in the halls of Murthum, Fuhrman & Warren High. He was even my date for Senior Prom!!! I still tell people how I had to fit my hoop skirt into the front of an Omni, and Tony was a gentleman throughout that whole hilarious scene!!! He will be missed by so many. My thoughts and prayers go out to Josh, Carol, Sue, Robin and the entire family. Tony, please send your strength down to all who loved you. God Bless.
