Josephine Staines née LaRosa has been called Josie from an early age. Her parents Vera and Thomas LaRosa and brother Thomas proceeding the passing of Josie. Josie surviving siblings are her sister Camille Bandejas and her brother Louis LaRosa. Josie leaves behind her loving husband Roy, son Robert Tacopina, daughter Jennifer, son Roy II. Josie also leaves behind her eight grandchildren, Brandon, Josh, Brinley, Corey, Andy, Emma, Tanner, Makenzie and to be born next year, Amelia and her dog Goose.
Josie grew up in Staten Island where she worked for an insurance company and helped her dad operate a novelty stand at an amusement park in Staten Island where she met Roy. Roy and Josie dated for two years and married in June 1980. They were married for 44 years. After Roy and Josie got married they moved to Florida with Robert and Jennifer in July 1980. Roy II was born in June 1981.
Josie loved and was talented making cards, crafts, and crocheting. She worked in a few craft stores then opened her two of own craft stores . Josie would go with Roy to baseball games and concerts. She loved to go see John Lollyd Young who played Frankie Valli in the Jersey Boys. She mostly loved seeing her grandchildren and being with Goose.
Josie will be deeply missed by her family and friends never mind Goose.
A Visitation is to be held on Monday, September 23, 2024, at 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
A Tributes of a Lifetime Service will start on the same Monday, September 23, 2024, at 6:00 PM, at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

We are saddened to hear of Josie’s passing. I will remember all the beautiful cards and crafts she made. She had such a creative talent. We had such a great time on our trip to Italy. Josie you will be missed. Rest in peace. ❤️. Sending love and hugs to your family.
