It is with a heavy heart that we announce the untimely passing of our beloved angel, Katherine Diaz Cerpas. Katherine was called Home to be with our Lord on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the young age of 16 years.

Katherine was born on September 13, 2002, in Bronx, New York. She was one of five children born to Jose Diaz and Karina Cerpas Diaz.

In Florida, she attended Miramar High School, she was part of the Marching Band playing the mellophone, an instrument she loved and was also part of the JROTC. She was a beautiful soul, her smile could light up a room and her laugh was so contagious she would make you laugh even if you did not want to. She was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, and friend and will be forever missed by all who had the pleasure of having her in their lives.

She is survived by her loving parents, Jose and Karina; her four dear siblings, Jomari Diaz, Jeison Diaz, Jose Diaz Jr, and Libia Diaz; her cherished grandmothers, Josefina Ulerio and Rosa Guevara; and aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends whom she loved like family.

The family will receive friends at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel on Friday, February 8, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. A tribute to Katherine’s life will begin at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 p.m. also at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Hollywood.

In lieu of flowers, her family would like for contributions to be made in her memory https://www.gofundme.com/katherine-diaz?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=fb_co_campmgmtbnr_w&fbclid=IwAR0dMoxIZ4KDpFRMGLMUta3-0WmB2OMRYpaAt6890bhoJP8KEchyJSR3sOo

Just close your eyes and you will see

All the memories that you have of me

Just sit and relax and you will find

I’m really still there inside your mind.

Don’t cry for me now I’m gone

For I am in the land of song

There is no pain, there is no fear

so dry away that silent tear.

Don’t think of me in the dark and cold

for here I am, no longer old

I’m in that place that’s filled with love

know to you all, as “up above”.
