Larry Joe Willis, aged 75, residing in Pembroke Lakes, Florida, passed away on August 22, 2022.  Larry was born on September 10, 1946, in Hialeah, Florida to Garwood and Betty Willis.  He grew up in a loving family with his brother Gary Earl and sisters Janet Ellen and Susan Lee.  With blessings and thanks to God, Larry joined his church’s Sunday School where he met the love of his life, Elizabeth Louise “Betty Lou” Pilkington.  After falling in love during the church field trip to the Passion Play in Lake Wales, Larry and Betty Lou got married on February 11. 1967.  This union brought two children into the world, Duane and Lori, who went on to marry Karen and Tom, and expand the family even more with three amazing Grandchildren:  Liam, Autumn, and Cameron.  

Larry lived a full life with over 36 years working for the phone company, starting as a technician and moving up to a manager and supervisor.   He enjoyed going out to eat, working in the yard, playing with his grandchildren, being silly, cruising, taking the long way home, fixing things with duct tape, having control of the flipper when watching TV, and playing blackjack at the Casino.  Larry was a wonderful man with a kind, giving, and caring heart who made an impact on everyone who knew and loved him.  

Larry suffered from a hereditary motor and sensory neuropathy, Charcot Marie Tooth, for most of his life.  Even though this impacted his ability to walk and complete many day to day functions, he remained strong, independent, and positive.  Those wishing to give a donation in Larry’s honor, are invited to donate to the Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) Foundation at https://cmtrf.org/donate/.  

Memorial Service to be held on Saturday, September 10, 2022 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.
