Laura A. Mena Calix, age 52, a loving mother, devoted wife, and unequaled sister and friend, passed away on July 30th after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in 1972 in Honduras, Laura grew up surrounded by her large family, which included five siblings, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. She came to the United States at 18 to make a better life for herself and her family which she achieved many times over.

She is survived by her loving husband, Brandon Beane; their cherished children, Anthony, Miguel, Logan, and Cassandra; her beloved mother, Justa; and her siblings, Fernando, Mirian, Victoria, Adolfo, and Xiomara. She will also be dearly missed by all fortunate enough to know her.

A visitation will be held at Boyd-Panciera Funeral Home, located at 1600 N University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL, on Monday, August 5, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.   A Mass of the Body Present will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 6, at 11:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Ascension at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery in Doral, FL. Following the Mass, Laura will be laid to rest in a Christian burial.

Laura A. Mena Calix, de 52 años, madre amorosa, esposa devota, hermana y amiga inigualable, falleció el 30 de julio después de una larga y valiente batalla contra el cáncer de mama. Nacida en 1972 en Honduras, Laura creció rodeada de su gran familia, que incluía cinco hermanos, numerosos tíos, tías y primos. Llegó a los Estados Unidos a los 18 años en busca de una mejor vida para ella y su familia, logrando su objetivo hasta su último día.
Le sobreviven su amado esposo, Brandon Beane; sus queridos hijos, Anthony, Miguel, Logan y Cassandra; su querida madre, Justa; y sus hermanos Fernando, Mirian, Victoria, Adolfo y Xiomara. También la extrañaran profundamente todos los que tuvieron la suerte de conocerla.

Su velatorio se realizará en Boyd-Panciera Funeral Home, ubicada en 1600 N University Drive, Pembroke Pines, FL, este Lunes 5 de agosto, de 6:00 p.m. a 9:00 p.m.
Se celebrará una Misa de Cuerpo Presente el martes 6 de agosto a las 11:30 a. m. en la Capilla de la Ascensión del Cementerio Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery en 11411 NW 25th Street Doral, FL 33172. Después de la Misa, se procederá a su cristiana sepultura.
