Laurie Jean Rice passed away on October 8, 2021 in Weston, Florida. She was born in Buffalo, New York and raised in Scituate, Massachusetts before moving to South Florida as a young adult, where she resided for the remainder of her life. She is survived by her son, Kevin Rice, of Miami, FL; parents Jean and Richard Booker of Franklin, NC; sister Terry (Paul) Monahan of York, ME; brother Donald (Patty) Booker, of Apex, NC and sister Kristen Booker of East Bridgewater, MA.
Laurie was an amazing mother, daughter, sister, and friend to many. She graduated from the State University of New York Oneonta and then worked as a Communications Manager for Caressa Inc. and later with Crate & Barrel and Golf Galaxy. She was an avid golfer and dog lover, and enjoyed volunteering at the Broward County Humane Society for many years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 15th, 2021 from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Hollywood Boulevard Chapel, 6400 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, Florida 33024. In lieu of flowers, her family has requested donations be made to two of her favorite causes: the Morgan Pressel Foundation, which provides support to victims of breast cancer, and the Humane Society of Broward County.
