Lawrence James Widlak, resident of Hollywood, FL, passed away on January 3, 2024 at Oasis Palms Assisted Living Facility in Miramar, FL at the age of 73.
Larry was born on May 23, 1950 in Buffalo, NY to Chester and Victoria Widlak. He was raised by them in Pembroke Pines, FL with his sisters Joyce Widlak and Marilyn Widlak, and spent most of his adult life living there. Larry started a landscaping business which he ran with his father, who was also the first mayor of Pembroke Pines. Later, inspired by his father’s public service, Larry took a position with the City of Pembroke Pines, where he worked until his retirement.
Larry valued his Polish family heritage and enjoyed learning the language and traveling to Poland. He also loved fishing, football, baseball, stamp collecting, volunteering at church, and being a gentleman, and a joker.
He will be sadly missed by his niece, Stephanie Walz, grand -nieces Sydney and Jacqueline Palmer, sister Joyce Walz, and many other friends and family.
