Leroy John Otto, 80 of Pembroke Pines FL, tragically passed away on February 23, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his siblings Bob Otto, Virginia Schoel, and his wife Billie Jean Otto (Jeannie) whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by his brothers Larry and Herbie Otto and sister Linda Plisis.
Leroy was born in Lake Geneva WI. He served in the United States Marine Corp from 1961- 1964. He spent some time in Chicago before relocating to South Florida in the early 1970’s where he worked in the elevator industry for over 40 years.
He loved to travel, gamble, and do family activities with his wife Jeannie and her grandchildren Chase and Paige. He loved all of his nieces and nephews, Doug and Matt Schoel. Erin Plisis, Stacey Sherman (Plisis) and Bill Otto.
He was an avid Green Bay Packers fan; trap and skeet marksman; and amateur collector. He and Jeannie’s travels took them from New York to Key West; Las Vegas, Alaska, Alcatraz, Panama Canal, Costa Rica, Aruba, United Kingdom. Leroy always seemed to have a gruff outward personality, but those close to him really knew his heart for giving, humor, and his smile.
He will be interred at the South Florida National Cemetery in Lake Worth Florida with his wife.
