Lisa was born in Toledo, Ohio where she lived until her family relocated to south Florida in 1969. She was a graduate of Piper High School of Sunrise, Florida, class of 1979, where she was a majorette in the marching band and her senior year served as Captain. Soon after, she met her best friend Tom and fell in love when he whisked her away for their first date in Key Largo. They were married on November 6, 1982.
Lisa was a very hard-working woman and created a long and successful career and business working as a private investigator in skip tracing and repossession. She got up every day and worked in some of the most intimidating neighborhoods of south Florida with her beaming smile. Nearly every day she returned home from working in the field with an entertaining story; so much so that many often said “this lady needs a TV show about this.”
Lisa was an exemplary role model of a strong woman, an incredibly loving and supportive wife, mother, sister, aunt, and best friend. She was a child of God and a woman of strong faith. She loved her family fiercely and enjoyed life with them in the Keys for many years, and more recently at her beach home on Hutchinson Island. She had many wonderful friendships and loved enjoying days with friends at River Ranch, exploring a new city, or just relaxing at the sandbar together. Lisa also loved her pets and all animals, routinely opening her home for a stray or finding a loving home.
She will always be remembered as one of the most generous souls anyone had ever met. The room lit up when she entered; and her love, kindness, and generosity has left a permanent mark on the hearts of all she knew. She absolutely loved life and will be immeasurably missed.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Richard and Mildred Daunhauer, infant sister, Robin Renee Pedigo, and nephew Matthew Roglyn. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Thomas DiMattina, sons Tommy (Whitney) and Ricky DiMattina, Kyle Lentini, sister Karen Roglyn, nephews Rich (Amanda) Pedigo, Christopher Mullen, Zachary Scroggin, nieces Jody Ann (Andrew) Giveans, Kristen Higginbotham, Carley DiMattina, Mckenzie Scroggin, Macey DiMattina, godchildren Hannah Rector, and Julianna Rector, brothers and sisters in law, several great nieces and nephews, and many cousins.
A sign that hangs in her home states “Be known for your kindness and grace,” and the life she lived and impact she made means she forever will.
The family has asked that you forgo traditional funeral attire and wear something bright and cheerful to honor Lisa’s bright spirit

I’d like to send my sincere condolences to the family & close friends. I worked with Lisa for the past 7 years, and it was more than just a work relationship, Lisa was a friend. I work for Hertz Rental Car, Lisa of LD-Investigations 🙂 would repossess vehicles for us, and yes she had some of the most awesome stories. I remember one where she door knocked a renters house and no one answered so Lisa decided to peek through the window and fell in the bushes. She always had a smile on her face and had the biggest show stopping personality. Lisa will be truly missed. She touched so many hearts here in this office, some days just won’t be the same. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

Dearest Tom, Tommy and Rickie and the entire DiMattina Family. Regretfully, we are not strangers to death in our families. Having said that, this woman, your wife, your Mother and our sister, cousin or friend, was taken from us way too soon. Lisa was vibrant, understanding and loving to all she met. We wish your family health and God’s grace to heal the hole in your hearts. We love you all and know, Lisa and all of you will be in our thoughts and prayers forever.

Tom, Ricky and Tommy,
My condolences and prayers to all of you. Lisa was a wonderful person. She always brought a smile to your face when she walked into a room. Lisa worked with my team and me in recovering rental vehicles for Hertz. She always had wild stories to share with us when we saw her. She is in a better place and she will be miss by everyone that knows her. She was loved by many and there will never be another person like her.
Lots of love to the family. All of you are in my prayers.
