Lissette was born on July 15, 1963, in Manhattan, New York. Loving daughter of Miguel Porto, from Lisbon Portugal and Carmen Rolon Ortiz from Cidra, Puerto Rico.
Lissette, after graduating from Mother Cabrini High School a Catholic high school located in Washington Heights in Upper Manhattan, New York City, she went to work as a Customer Service Representative for FedEx. There she worked for 25 years and received numerous promotions. She eventually retired and moved with her parents to Davie, Florida in 2018. She may have moved out of New York City, but she always found ways to give back to the Washington Heights community by raising awareness for museums, and resources available.
Lissette cared very much for her parents, and they knew that. She always put her parents first – they were a loving unit. Everywhere she went, they went.
Lissette met the love of her life, Angel Luis Fandino. They shared beautiful times together and he made her very happy. Lissette adored her fur babies, her beloved cats named Havana, Cindy, Jenny, and Daisy Fandino Porto.
Lisette always went above and beyond the call of duty. She always brought gifts and joy to the family and those around her. She had a huge heart and never hesitated to lend a helping hand. Lissette was kind and very outspoken – she would tell you what’s on her mind. She had a vibrant and colorful personality and an infectious smile.
Lissette passed away on January 4th, 2022. She is survived by her mother Carmen. Lissette was a loving daughter and cousin to family and many friends. She will be dearly missed.
