Louis Joseph Cammiso of Pembroke Pines, Florida passed away on February 26, 2023 at the age of 91. Born in Chicago in 1931. He spent much of his childhood in Brooklyn, NY. He proudly served his country in the Korean War from 1951 -1953, earning a United Nations Service Medal and two Bronze Stars for heroic achievement in combat. He was married in 1956 and got remarried in 1987 to the love of his life, Roberta “Bobbie” Olick Kanoff.
Lou was a kind, gregarious man with a great sense of humor and an incredible capacity for love. He enjoyed baseball and was an avid NY Yankees fan. He loved ocean cruises, days on the beach, and ballroom dancing. His greatest joy was seeing his family spend time together.
Even as his health was failing, he remained in good spirits and celebrated his family. Lou will be missed by family and friends who loved his stories, smile and his upbeat attitude.
He is survived by his wife, Roberta, children Molly Kanoff and her husband Mitch Jender, Valerie Cammiso, Robert Cammiso and husband Philip Budnick, Richard Kanoff and wife Donna Guidone, Michael Cammiso and wife Paula Bayes, and Wendy Cammiso and husband Art Canestro as well as grandchildren Alexis Cammiso and husband Jared Saperstein, Jamie Gargiulo, Julia Kanoff, Michael Kanoff, Amanda Cammiso, Jake Gargiulo, Ashley Cammiso, Alyssa Cammiso, Josh Kanoff, Colby Gargiulo, Luke Cammiso, Julian Jender and wife Chelsea, and great-grandson Noah Jender.
