The good Lord called our dear, gentle and loving Luis A. Marrero home. Louie graced us with his 56 years of life, having been born on November 30, 1957 in Ponce, Puerto Rico where he gave us so many wonderful and lasting memories in Villalba, Camden and Pennsauken, New Jersey, Orlando and Plantation Florida. We all know he was an angel on earth so, it may be of comfort for us to know that when his spirit departed on Sunday, May 4, 2014 from the Memorial Hospital’s Vitas Hospice Care Unit, the good Lord finally gave him his long overdue wings.
He was a loving husband, a model father, a tender brother, soft spoken uncle and an instant friend to all who were really lucky to have met him. He walked with patience, dignity and honor, and still believed your word is your bond. He will be remembered by his DYFS or as he would say DYFER family having worked faithfully for the State of New Jersey for over 28 years in Camden, NJ until retiring on June 1, 2011. Louie was a man of simple pleasures. He enjoyed racing his remote controlled boat, traveling to Key West, feeding the turtles, ducks squirrels and cared for all of God’s little creatures. He loved sitting in his comfy chair watching movies like Pirates of The Caribbean so much so, that he quoted Captain Jack Sparrow almost everyday. He was a gentle soul who loved to make us laugh and would never pass a chance to crack jokes and lighten up any situation. We should be comforted that he would want to be remembered for his laughter and warm engaging smile that was his simple and special gift to us all.
Louie is survived by his loving wife Denise, tender daughter Melissa and son-in-law Tito, brave son Jonathan Maritza, faithful brother Chris and brother William, sister Edith and granddaughters Makayla, Isabella and Viviana, sisters-in-law Maria, Cecelia and Toni, brother-in-law Norman Ritchie, nieces Christina Richard and Rebecca, nephews Jay and Ian and many extended family members and close friends throughout Puerto Rico, New Jersey and Florida.
Rest in peace our precious angel and hero.
