Lydia Rodriguez, a cherished member of the South Florida community for many years, peacefully departed this life on September 29, 2023, at the age of 65. She was born in Brooklyn, New York, on November 24, 1957, to her late parents, Monserrate Rodriguez and Milagros Garcia.

Lydia was known for her ever-cheerful disposition, a zest for life that found expression in her love for dancing, her appreciation of the beach, her culinary talents, and her devotion to family gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her son Glenn Nieves, and Virginia Rodriguez. Lydia leaves behind a loving family, including her siblings: Felicita Piniero, Ramon Rodriguez, Isabel Garcia (and her husband, Luis), Jose Rodriguez (and his wife, Barbara), and Thelma M. Carranza (and her husband, Julio). She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who held a special place in her heart.

Visitation in Lydia’s memory will be held on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a Funeral Service scheduled at 4:00 PM. The services will take place at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, University Drive Chapel, where friends and family can pay their respects and celebrate Lydia’s life.
