Marcos Acosta, grew up in New York and later came to Florida, a father of two, a perfect husband, a nurturing caring, loving son, an uncle, the favorite “uncle Mike”, a sibling of 15 who he loved dearly and would do anything to make sure they were in good health, a charming personality that filled the room with laughter, humor, dance moves and good energy.
Marcos had a unique style, he dressed like an art of work or work of art. Children adored him, because he was another big happy kid and gave them his undivided attention. He was overprotective to those he loved, a unique experience for those who knew him, to know him was to love him.
He loved his mother and was always thinking about her: did she eat? is she alone? He loved visiting, cooking and doing her hair.
Marcos Acosta, my husband, an intense love, that’s the best description of who he was. Intense love, strength, energy, nothing was too much for him or greater than him. He cured cancer and brought people back from the brink of death, and cooked, and did your hair, all in the same week. If you don’t believe this he would tell you: “tsss, who is the doctor here?!
It was not difficult to love him, although it was difficult to fulfill his expectations of love, because it was impossible to give as much as he gave.
He worked from a very young age without stopping. He created companies and created jobs and started again several times and never gave up. He never lacked the courage to start over.
During the pandemic he studied and got his boat captain’s license. A few months after the economy reopened, he had roughly half a million dollars under contract. We were happy because we would build our little house, and soon we would spend our days cooking, listening to music, painting…he wouldn’t have to work anymore.
He had a simple faith, one of the best, the kind of faith that doesn’t ask much, but only feels and gives. He believed in God, and in love, and in being good.
