Margaret A. Backes, age 82 of Hollywood, Florida, passed away at her residence in the presence of her family on February 11, 2022. She was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on July 8, 1939 to the late Thomas and Mary Conway.

She was preceded in death by her son, Harry G. Backes, her husband, Harry J. Backes, her brother, Edward Thomas Conway and three sisters Virginia Felton, Wilma Powers, Shirley Malkus.

Margaret is survived by her daughter, Kim E. Sterner, and her husband, Robert; her sister Marcella Faust and her husband Jim; grandchildren: Nicki Lucas, and her husband, Stephen, Bobby Sterner, and his wife, Nikki and Jaime Backes and great-granchildren: Devin Backes, Jenna Backes, Robbie Kristof, Brady Lucas, Mason Sterner, Logan Sterner and Jaxon Sterner. She is also loved by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation to be held on Monday, February 14, 2022 from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM with Tributes of a Lifetime at 6:00 PM at Boyd-Panciera Family Funeral Care, 1600 N. University Drive, Pembroke Pines, Florida 33024.

Graveside Service to be held at South Florida National Cemetery, 6501 S. State Road 7, Lake Worth, Florida 33449. Please meet her family in Lane #1.

I’m sorry to hear about Peggy. She was my sister in law for many years when I was married to Buddy’s brother Rich. I told Rich many times Peggy was the best thing that ever happened to Bud and little Buddy. I hear over the years she was also wonderful to Kim and all of the Backes grandchildren. We need more people in this world like her. I am so sorry for the family loss. She will be missed. BETTY
