TOTH, Maria Eugenia, age 62, of Pembroke Pines, passed away May 17, 2012. Born January 28, 1950, in Bogota, Columbia, she immigrated to Miami as a young girl where she grew up, and was a member of the Coral Gable High School class of 1969. Maria was a devoted wife and mother in Tampa and Ridge Manor for many years before beginning a career as a veterinary assistant at Hometown Animal Hospital in Weston. Maria loved vacationing with family and friends, parlor games, outdoor activities, reading, watching movies, animals, and appreciated good food. She will be remembered for her caring nature, patience and wry wit. Maria was preceded in death by her parents, Maria and Ernst Curschellas, and her brother, Herman Linares. She is survived by her loving daughter, Christine Marie Toth, sister, Graciela L. Miller, and brothers, L. Carlos Linares Diane, and Ernst Curschellas, Jr., and many extended family members, friends and co-workers. A reception will be held in her memory on Monday, May 21st, at 6:30 PM, in the Pembroke Pines Silver Lake community, West Broward Hall, 927 NW 178th Ave, Pembroke Pines, 33029. For directions, please contact 954-432-2530. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the Humane Society of Broward County.

Maria was the kindest, most incredibly caring person I’ve ever had the good fortune to know during my lifetime. She will be sadly missed by so many people…and if the animals all knew, they would all be crying too.

Maria was my friend for over 32 years and I have nothing but beautiful memories to hold in my heart. It was my pleasure to have known such a kind, generous and loving person. I will miss her everyday – I loved her, she was family. So, I will not say good-bye…only that I shall see her later.
