Martha Peña-Martinez February 16, 1927- May 20, 2024 Martha Peña-Martinez, beloved mother to three children and  grandmother to four, passed away of old age on Monday May 20,  2024, leaving a void her family cannot fill. 

She was born in Fomento, Las Villas, Cuba in 1927 to Lorenzo Peña  and Candida Garcia, and loved playing marbles and baseball as a  child. Martha attended Cheo La Paz Academy before going to work  at KMART in North Bergen, New Jersey. 

Martha was a devoted mother to Martica, Ernesto and Jesusito, they  were her pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life  for the better and the greatest gift God had given her. They of course  felt that in the love and support she provided throughout their lives. Martha took special joy in making croquetas with french fries and on  occasion made frituras de malanga. She also took great pleasure in  baking a delicious panetela(pound cake) for her children and had  fond memories of going to their football and baseball games.  Perhaps her most proudest moment was being alive to witness the  birth of her four grandchildren. 

Martha was preceded in death by her husband Jesus Martinez, her  son Ernesto Martinez, and several siblings and is survived by  brother Rosendo Peña, who will never forget the love she brought to  their lives.
