Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you already know, Maritza was an angel sent to many of us for various reason. She always greeted me with a smile and a kind word. She was fun to be with and funny person. She loved life. She was role model for women in business. She loved her job, but her family was her priority. She glowed when she spoke of her family, especially her two special babies, Deanna and Richie. She was an awesome mom and wife. Maritza will be missed my all. I regret that she died unexpectedly, because selfishly, I wish I could have said my personal good bye and hugged and kiss her; however, I am comforted in knowing that she is in heaven because of her strong faith with our loving Lord. She leaves her human life behind, but joins God for eternal life.

To Maritza?s family and friends,
As we all know Maritza was a special person in many ways. I knew Maritza as a fellow EDS?er and manager but in any capacity she was a friend. Although illness took her from us without much warning the memories she left us with will remain. I have many happy memories of our daily calls mostly about business but from time to time about the things that matter most, family. Maritza always talked kindly of her family and was interested in my family as a friend always is. I will miss Maritza but will always have many happy thoughts of times and experiences I was able to share with her. I know as her family and friends you will also have the same. Take encouragement in the Lord and each other and celebrate family and friendship as that is the way Momma Green would like it !

Dear Green Family,
Although Maritza was only my Manager for about a year and I never met in person, she is one of the most meaningful people in my Life. She gave my Hope when I was in desperation. At the time, my daughter was having troubles of her own with my Wife, but Maritza was right there to console me. Maritza gave me advice, Hope, and Knowledge, and Blessings. She Prayed for me.
Even after she was no longer my Manager, she still called from time to time, just to see how me and my family were doing. That meant so much to me, I can’t even begin to explain it. She was a True Angel on this Earth, and an Inspiration to anyone who ever knew her.
I am deeply saddened by the loss of such a wonderful person, and my Heart goes out to all of you. I feel blessed to have only been touched by her. My Spirit takes wings just thinking of her. She is a true Angel.
I said a Rosary to Maritza starting at 6:30pm this evening to coincide with the Service since I could not be there in person.
My thoughts and Prayers are with you and your Family.

Cindy Hickerson (Bluemont VA US)
October 11, 2005, 12:00 am
My name is Cindy Hickerson and I had the honor to work with Maritza at EDS. I?ve asked my good friend JT Stofer to read this dedication to Maritza from me and my family. My husband and I are on a ranch in the Colorado Rockies for our 20th wedding anniversary. Being here in the Rocky Mountains right now, I?m feeling a little closer to Maritza.
When I first met Maritza, I remember how petite she was but what a dynamo existed in that little body. I immediately thought of the MG car. I?ve called her MG ever since. She was a big person in a little body.
MG asked us to celebrate her life which is so easy to do. Life was a celebration for Maritza. She celebrated big and small. It was a joy to be around her unless she was telling some of her really bad jokes. No one laughed harder at MG than MG which made everyone else fair game to Maritza. Watch out if she set her sites on you. It was usually her manager Ben she was after.
It wasn?t very long ago, when we were in a team meeting with Maritza. She let us know she was going on vacation. MG was a huge country music fan and she was going to the country music festival. And she was going dancing. She explained that much to her family?s bafflement that even with Maritza?s wonderful Cuban heritage, she had absolutely no rhythm and couldn?t dance. That didn?t bother MG because it was just one of her many celebrations in life. She couldn?t wait to go dancing with her family. She had the team in stitches. I have a good laugh and fond memory every time I think of MG telling the story.
I worked with Maritza for several years and had the pleasure to work with her daily for the last four years. We talked almost everyday to go over the ?stuff? for the day. In almost conversation, we touched on something personal. She was always checking in to see how my family was doing. MG has a huge EDS family that she cared about. She would send us surprises in the mail. I let her know that Jessie and Courtney were borrowing my goodies from her. Well guess what, the next time I got a surprise from her, there were three surprises ? one for me, one for Courtney and one for Jessie.
MG loved her family Richard, Deanna and Richie dearly. Maritza loved her parents very much and spoke of all of you often. Family was everything for Maritza and her enthusiasm invited you to share about your family which I did regularly with MG. She was very proud of Deanna and Ritchie and their accomplishments. Over the years, I often asked what were her and Richards?s ingredients were for raising such special kids. I know now, the special ingredients are Richard and Martiza Green.
Maritza left us early but as many of us know, Maritza didn?t do things slow. She moved at about 90 mph. I constantly marveled at her energy and didn?t even try to keep up. I loved her energy and it was contagious. Whether it be her faith, her humor, or her dedication, everyone was touched by Maritza. Maritza?s life was a life well lived and a precious gift to all of us.
We joyously celebrate Maritza?s life with lots of love and hugs and kisses.

She will be sorely missed by all that she touched, which is many. While these are just words, I hope this brings you, her family, some consolation. She is with God now and will hurt no more.
“Now we look forward with confidence to our heavenly bodies, realizing that every moment we spend in these earthly bodies is time spent away from our eternal home in heaven with Jesus.”

Martiza was a loving and caring person who always made people feel very special. I had the pleasure of working with Martiza on several special projects and what I remember the most about her is that she always had a ?SMILE? on her face and in her voice. She was a very positive and caring person. May it somehow give your family peace of mind and ease your sorrow to know that so many thoughts and prayers are with your family during this time. May God bless your family.

Richard and Family,
Maritza holds a special place in my heart as well as others I’m sure. She always greeted with a smile and a hug which I looked forward to every time we had the opportunity to meet. I have fond memories of visits to Plano and Mirimar where we shared time talking about our families, friends and the always enjoyable Duke vs. Maryland rivalry. I feel blessed that I was able to visit with your family this past summer and add that to my list of fond memories. Please know that you and your famuly will always be in my thoughts.

Maritza was an instant friend to me. She was an amazing woman, who I admired due to her character, intelligence and wit. We were peers in management at EDS. I will forever cherish those memories with her, as well as the few times I visited her in Florida in the last few years. She truly left people touched by the gift of her love, and I am one of those people.
May you find peace in this difficult time.

With all our love,
Cindy, Jim, Jessie and Courtney Hickerson
