Verdi, Mary , 85, of Davie passed away Sunday, February 5, 2006. Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband Emil in 1974. She is survived by a loving family, son; Emil Verdi and his wife Linda of Davie, daughter; Roseanne Kranitz and her husband Wesley of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildrn, her 4 nieces; Marie, Vivian, Camile and Gloria and devoted friend Joan Britton. She will be reunited in heaven with her dear friend of many years Maria Spazgani who died on Feb. 1, 2006. In addition to her family Mary will be missed by her many many friends. She was a 50 Life member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 67 in North Miami. She held many offices in the Auxiliary and was the District 10 President and a member and officer of the 8 & 40 of the American Legion Auxiliary in North Miami. Her love of Italian cooking led to her cooking for the Italian Dinners served at the Legion. She had a love for children and youth and volunteered many hours at the Veterans Hospital in Miami for many years. She was very independent and an associate of her son Emil in Verdi Well Drilling in Davie since 1962. Mary had a love of travel and visited throughout Europe and the United States. Mary was loved and respected by all those who came in contact with her and will be missed. Friends may visit from 6-9 PM Thursday, February 9th at Boyd’s University Dr. Chapel. A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 PM and an American Legion Auxillary Post 67 Service will begin at 7:30 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donations in Mary’s name to Our Savior Lutheran School Scholarship Fund, 8001 NW 5th Street, Plantation, FL 33317.
