Maurice Earl Henry

March 28, 1963~September 29, 2022

Maurice Earl “Earlito” Henry Jr. was born on March 28, 1963 in  Brooklyn, New York to Maurice Sr. and Diana Henry. Jr. married Jacqueline  “Jackie” Collazo on June 23, 1990 in Flushing, New York. They had two children, Cassia and Javier. He was a devoted husband, father, brother and a friend.

Even as a child Maurice Jr. had a voice and disposition that made  people take notice. He was an accomplished basketball player  throughout his high school and college years. Other younger athletes were inspired by his skill and grace on the court, especially his younger brother, Mario. Off the court he continued to lead by example, encouraging those who looked up to him.

Maurice Jr. and Jackie made their home in Weston, Florida near the beach, which he loved. Maurice made family a priority with frequent family outings and functions. He was very proud of his children, they were the center of his world. Maurice Jr. relied heavily on his  Buddhist faith to get him through any challenges that he faced in life.  He was Vice Men’s leader for the Weston South District of SGI-USA.

Maurice Jr. traveled extensively for both work and pleasure. Through his career, he persevered with laser focus toward his ultimate goal – to be respected and valued in his profession. Maurice Jr. had  accomplished his life’s mission recently when he became Vice  President at Jobvite. He later became an adjunct professor at Miami  Dade Community College. Maurice’s contributions as a businessman and a professor created a legacy that people will continue to remember forever.

After celebrating 59 years of life, he reached Eagle Peak on September 29, 2022. Maurice Jr. is survived by his loving wife of 32  years, Jackie; children: Cassia and Javier; parents: Maurice Sr. and  Diana and sibling Mario. He also leaves behind a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.

I wish the family a warm and deep condolence.

We are forever young in god’s eyes,
In heaven were chimes ring high!
Rainbows highlighting every breath he took,
Family he loved, beyond all that stood.

I was fortunate enough to spend a couple of days in Maurice’s company at the end of Sept. He’d only been with Jobvite for about six weeks, but he made an immediate impact. He lit up the room with his smile. He was smart, kind, and genuine, which are all attributes that made him so special to the CS team. I looked forward to our conversations, he had so many great ideas; I only wish he were here to see us execute against them. Sending my sincere condolences to his family. I’m so thankful I had the opportunity to know Maurice, even if only for a short while.

My sincerest condolences to your family. I had the honor and pleasure of meeting and getting to know Maurice for the short period of time of 4 weeks. In that time he left a great impression and he gained my respect, immediately. Professionally, leader of great vision with a positive and one to help approach. Personally, within the short period of time, with no question, I learned how much he cared about his family and his children centered around his pride and joy.
Maurice touch so many in such a short period of time. I am grateful to have worked under his leadership.
My thoughts and prayers to you and anyone that had the joy of knowing Maurice.

Calm the heart,
Forever tears may sway apart.
Gentleness of this beating sharp,
Caressing your driven harp.
We shall become your broken art,
Once more brushing in those perfect arcs.
Tell heaven, we shall meet again,
Under those juniper trees and flowing winds.

Maurice Jr and I met only once but how reminiscent the meeting was of his beautiful, loving and most caring parents whom are friends of my sister Ana and I. How appropriate that he chose them as his parents and his parents chose him as one of their wonderful sons in this lifetime!

I pray for his peaceful transition and eternal happiness.

Sending my deepest condolences to the Henry family. Maurice was one of the most amazing humans and hands down the best boss and mentor I have ever had.

He would always send us photos of his beautiful wife and children. Telling us how amazing his life was and reminding us that no matter how crazy things were, family is everything. He was our rock when the storms would hit at work, keeping our team calm and focused.

I am devastated but know he will be watching over us.

Maurice, sorry I did not get to meet you, but Stacey talked so much about you that I felt I knew you for a while. Just reading some of the posts here helped to solidify what I’ve heard of your character. It is unfortunate we did not meet because I know you would have been an inspiration. However, you touched so many people lives in such an amazing way, even up to the last few days before you departed this earth which shows why you were so special. Rest in Peace Maurice.

I learned of Maurice’s passing this year when his birthday announcement appeared on Facebook and I went to his page to post. I got to know Maurice at SGI USA meetings, at the FBI and BSO Citizens Academies that we attended, and at various training workshops. I wish his wife, children, and relatives much love and peace.
