This obituary shares the life and love of Michael George Watson. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend!! He was the pillar and foundation for all who knew him! His dad used to say he was the pied piper for all children. All the kids in the neighborhood and all around him, always flocked to him for his comfort and love!!
Michael George Watson of Springfield, IL passed away on Saturday January 7th, 2023 after only reaching the young age of 66. After months of failing health complications with Cancer, he got sick with Covid and Pneumonia at the same time and was taken from us that evening of January 7th, 2023 at 7:49pm. He fought hard, but God needed him.
Michael was born July 23rd, 1956 to Clara and George Watson. He was a hard worker even as a kid, and his ambition to help others has always shined so bright. He was a Navy man and that part of his life meant so much to him!! He was super creative and loved to read!! He was a fishing fanatic and could catch something in any body of water he happened to stumble across. He could build anything you could think of with wood and would amaze you with the things he knew and could do!! He and his loving wife Kathy ran with the same crowd of friends in Highschool, but never managed to meet. He stole her heart through a mutual friend and they were inseparable for 36 years after that!! He was always a smooth operator!

He took the shirt off his back and the food out of his mouth for anyone who needed it!! He will be missed more than anyone will ever imagine. Until we meet again. Not bye forever.. Just bye for now!! See you on the other side.
